TECHAGE RECOMMENDS WINDOWS 10


Windows 10, Microsoft’s new operating system is getting rave reviews. It brings back the ease of use of Windows 7 and older Windows versions while keeping all of the great new features of Windows 8. Best of all, it is a FREE upgrade for current users of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. We think you’ll like Windows 10. Of course, TechAge will be there to help you make the transition with our Meet Windows 10, Introduction to Windows 10 and Take Control of Windows 10 classes.


ABOUT TechAge CLASSES

All TechAge classes are small with a maximum of 10 students, one Instructor and up to three coaches to help students master the content. Students use individual PCs and free help sessions are available from noon - 2 pm weekdays.


HOW TO REGISTER

MEET WINDOWS 10


Moving to Windows 10 from an earlier Windows version? This 2-lesson course will ease your transition. You’ll learn to use its most important features, easily access the programs you use most and get Apps from the new Windows Store where you’ll find thousands of mostly free or low-cost Apps for productivity, information and entertainment.
Fee $20. Prerequisite: Windows 10, planned purchase or upgrade.

INTRO TO COMPUTERS FOR WINDOWS 10


You will learn to use the basic features of Windows 10 and the App store in this 8-lesson course which also includes lessons on basic word processing, file management, using the Internet and e-mail. This is a great course for beginners and for users who want to refresh their skills and learn the new features in Windows 10.
Prerequisite: Windows 10 PC.

This 4-lesson class is for beginners and anyone new to Windows 10. It teaches the essential skills you need to get the most from your PC. You will learn to use and customize the Start menu, use free word processing tools, search using Cortana voice search, manage your files, use the Internet, download and use Apps from the App Store & more
Prerequisite: Windows 10 PC

This 4-lesson class builds on the skills taught in “Windows 10 Intro I-Essentials”. You will learn to safely use your PC with popular Apps to access news, information and entertainment, use the Internet and email, work with photos and backup your computer and files.
Fee $40, Optional text $15.
Prerequisite: “Windows 10 Intro I-Essentials” or “Meet Windows 10”

TAKE CONTROL OF WINDOWS 10


Go beyond the basics. Learn to use the major features of your PC’s operating system, organize your files, customize your computer, install/ remove programs, keep your computer safe and up-to-date and back up your data.

FILE MANAGEMENT


In this 3-lesson course you will learn to organize PC’s “electronic filing cabinet”, create an efficient, categorized filing system and save files and folders so you can find them later. You will also learn how to create, move, search for, delete and protect your files and folders and to organize your e-mails and Internet “Favorites”. Course taught with Windows 10 but applicable to both Windows 7 and Windows 8.
Fee $30. Prerequisite: Basic computer skills.
